Events & Announcements
Dear Friends and Newcomers,
The Joel Nafuma Refugee Center would like to invite you to our next Fundraising Dinner, this time showcasing the cuisine of KENYA, the beautiful, modern East African Country, famous for safaris, Massai, the Big Five. Kenyan cuisine is a wonderful fusion of history: A mix of Bantu white corn staples, and Gujarati Indian spice, with Arab trading influences thrown in from the Swahili Coastal culture.
We have quite a number of Kenyans doing classes at the JNRC, as well as one counseling therapist from Nairobi 🙂
We will attempt to make dishes that reflect Kenyan diversity and cooking influences, with something for everyone.
Pleas send us an email to RSVP: events@jnrc.it with # guests, and whether vegetarian, allergies etc. Vegetarians receive a free glass of wine in lieu of the meat dish. Soft drinks are included in the donation fee, and there will be a cash bar. The Guest List is filled to a max number on ‘first come, first served’ basis, so please email ASAP so avoid disappointment. If you prefer, You can send us and email and then donate online at our website, writing KENYAN DINNER in the notes.
WELCOME ALL!!!! Suggested donations: Adult 20, student/ pensioner 15, child 10 for meal and soft drinks. Cash bar.
