Rainbow Asylum Ministry Project
The JNRC is dedicated to expanding its services to better support the LGBTQ+ community, ensuring that our assistance is accessible and inclusive for all. Our commitment to developing a program specifically for LGBTQ+ forced migrants reflects our core values of inclusivity, human rights, and social justice.
In partnership with
Episcopal Migration Ministries
We understand that LGBTQ+ forced migrants face unique and complex challenges, including heightened risks of violence, discrimination, and marginalization. To address these needs, we aim to create a safe and welcoming environment where individuals can access essential services, receive psychosocial support, and build a sense of community.
As part of this initiative, we will provide specialized training for our volunteers to ensure they are equipped to support LGBTQ+ individuals with sensitivity and understanding. Additionally, we will create informational materials to share with LGBTQ+ organizations in Rome, helping to raise awareness among LGBTQ+ forced migrants that the JNRC is a safe and supportive space.
This program reflects our principles of dignity, respect, and equality, addressing the specific needs of LGBTQ+ forced migrants to enhance their well-being, integration, and quality of life. By empowering individuals to overcome challenges, we aim to help them thrive in their new environments and contribute meaningfully to their communities and society as a whole.
