The JNRC Volunteers` Training Tool Project has successfully taken place from September to December 2021, resulting from joined efforts of JNRC and the Council of Europe in supporting the socio-economic integration of thousands of refugees and asylum seekers in Europe. Through this, JNRC developed 2 workshops which were presented in the first JNRC Volunteer Training session on November 6th 2021 and 2 webinars (available in Italian, English and German on this webpage).
The Council of Europe has developed a toolkit (available in seven languages) to support member states in their efforts to respond to the challenges posed by unprecedented migration flows. It has been produced as part of the project Linguistic Integration of Adult Migrants (LIAM) of the Council of Europe’s major Program on language policy.
JNRC has been fortunate to partner with the Council of Europe to provide vital training tools for JNRC volunteers and strengthen their work with refugees and asylum seekers. The developed tools enrich JNRC’s programs, supporting the socio-economic integration of thousands of refugees and asylum seekers in Italy and in Europe.
JNRC Volunteer Training Session, November 6th 2021
The training session included two workshops, which provided an overview on migration related issues to all JNRC volunteers (around 60-70). The workshops’ purpose was to facilitate the volunteers` interaction with the over 150 refugees and asylum seekers assisted by our organization on a daily basis.
The contents have been remodeled and adapted to the needs of JNRC volunteers based on the work they carry out assisting thousands of refugees and asylum seekers every year.
JNRC has developed six webinars with the purpose to offer an effective tool to those volunteers that assist guests through the JNRC language programs (Italian, English, German). All webinars are based on the Council of Europe Toolkit Language Support for Adult Refugees and have been adapted to the linguistic integration needs of JNRC guests.
